Police investigating a fire that killed two men in Fraserburgh said their inquiries had prompted a review of another fatal blaze in the town.

Derek Roy, 46, and Derek Youngson, 19, died in the fire in Kirk Brae on 31 December 2006.

Police launched a review of the case in October.

They have now received information about a fire in High Street in May 1998, which claimed the life of 43-year-old Gordon Graham.

Det Ch Insp Malcolm Stewart said: "We are now reviewing the circumstances of both fires, speaking to people and noting any additional evidence.

"I appeal to anyone who knows anything or has information regarding either of these incidents to contact us.

"We continue to keep the families of Derek Roy and Derek Youngson and the family of Gordon Graham updated with any developments."
