'Three times limit' driver fined

Perth Sheriff Court
The court heard that Scott's car was weaving across the road

A woman has been fined £1,000 after being caught more than three times over the drink-drive limit.

Lorraine Scott, 41, from Blackford, Perthshire, was seen drifting from one lane to another on the A9 between Stirling and Perth.

She was on her way home from lunch when the offence happened. Concerned motorists contacted police.

Scott was also banned for two years at Perth Sheriff Court after she admitted drink-driving.

Fiscal depute Charmaine Cole told the court that the police were contacted by other motorists because they were so concerned by the way she was weaving across the road on Tuesday.

Solicitor Billy Somerville, defending, said: "It seems that on the day in question she had lunch with her boyfriend and topped up the alcohol from the night before. She was driving back to her own house."
