Ch Insp Malcolm MacLeod said: "Derek Robertson is still believed to be in the London area and we continue to work with the Metropolitan Police to locate him. "We have now enlisted the support of BBC Crimewatch in our efforts to trace him. "I urge anyone with any information about Derek Robertson or of his current whereabouts to contact us on 0845 600 5700, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or via the telephone numbers featured on the show."
