Hundreds at waste plant meeting

Hundreds of people gathered at a public meeting ahead of a decision over plans for a £50m waste-to-energy plant in Peterhead.

Buchan CHP (Combined Heat and Power) wants to build the plant at Upperton Industrial Estate.

However, there have already been large public protests over the plans.

A four-hour pre-determination hearing in the town on Monday night heard from supporters and objectors. A planning report is due in December.
