The investment is aimed at improving the Footdee area

Work has begun on a £500,000 redevelopment project to upgrade the Footdee area at Aberdeen Harbour.

The Aberdeen Harbour Board investment is designed to develop the public space beside the Roundhouse and North Pier.

The project, due to be completed in spring 2010, will see improvements including new road surfacing, seating, lighting, and information on the area.

Colin Parker, chief executive of Aberdeen Harbour, said it would be a "huge improvement".
