Hearing on energy bid controversy

Protest
There have been protests about the energy plant plans

A public pre-determination hearing into proposals for a new £50m waste-to-energy plant in Peterhead is due to be held later.

Buchan CHP (Combined Heat and Power) wants to build the plant at Upperton Industrial Estate.

However, there have already been large public protests over the plans.

The hearing will take place at the Palace Hotel in Peterhead from 1830 GMT on Monday to allow local discussion, Aberdeenshire Council said.
