Call for more oil and gas action

The government has been urged to do more to maximise the amount of oil and gas that can be recovered from the North Sea.

Sir Ian Wood - the head of multi-national oil and gas services company Wood Group - was speaking at the Oil and Gas UK awards in Aberdeen.

Sir Ian said with an estimated 25 billion barrels of oil still to be recovered the government must act.

There have been recent warnings of job losses in the industry.
