Donald Trump wants to build the world's 'greatest' golf venue

The master plan for Donald Trump's golf resort and housing development in Aberdeenshire has gone on display.

The Trump Organisation has already won outline planning permission for two golf courses, a "residential village" and a hotel on the Menie Estate.

Drawings by Gareth Hoskins Architects can be viewed at a hotel in the nearby village of Balmedie.

A number of local residents have refused to sell their homes to make way for the resort.

A full Aberdeenshire Council meeting on 1 October will provide the first opportunity for compulsory purchase orders to be discussed, although no agenda has yet been set.

Mr Trump has said his vision is to create the world's "greatest" golf venue comprising a world class golf course, a second 18-hole course, 950 holiday homes and 500 houses.

The proposal was originally rejected by a committee of the council before being called in by the Scottish Government and approved.
