The organisers hope to attract hundreds of real ale fans

Stonehaven is to host an annual real ale event, it has been announced.

Drinks from dozens of Scottish breweries are expected to feature in the first Stonehaven Real Ale Festival in the Kincardineshire town.

It will be held at the town hall on 5 and 6 November, and it is hoped hundreds of people will attend.

Stonehaven Real Ale Festival organiser Robert Lindsay said: "Brewing has a rich and long tradition. That is something which should be celebrated."
