Peregrine falcon's death probed

A peregrine falcon found dead on a shoreline may have been poisoned, police have said.

The bird of prey was found between Findochty and Portknockie near an area known locally as Three Moothed Cave.

A member of the public found the bird on Wednesday, and alerted Grampian Police.

The bird had been taken away to be examined but police said the circumstances suggested it may have been poisoned.
