Man injured after roof collapses

A 56-year-old man has been taken to hospital under police escort after a roof collapsed on top of him.

The man, who has not been named, was working at a demolition site on Albert Quay, in the harbour area of Aberdeen, at about 1545 BST.

He was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after suffering serious head, neck and shoulder injuries.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.
