Girl satisfactory after accident

A schoolgirl airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Shetland was in a "satisfactory" condition on Wednesday.

The 11-year-old was transferred by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for further treatment on Tuesday.

The accident happened near a country shop at Dunrossness just before 1300 BST.

The girl's condition was initially described as "serious but stable" but has now improved to satisfactory.
