Police name road accident victims

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian killed in separate road accidents in Tayside at the weekend have been named.

Alan Webster, 44, of Laurencekirk, died on the B9128 Forfar to Carnoustie road at its junction with the road leading to Letham on Saturday afternoon.

James Mathew, 30, from Dundee, was killed after being struck with a coach as he walked on the city's Kingsway on Saturday evening.

Tayside Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

Mr Webster died when his Ducati motorbike collided with a silver Range Rover at about 1430 BST.

About two hours later Mr Mathew was fatally injured after being hit by a bus near Kingway's junction with Muirfield Road.

He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee but died later.

The force said the incident was not being treated as suspicious and have appealed to anyone who may have information about either accident to contact them.
