Three people have appeared in court after drugs with an estimated street value of more that £76,000 were seized.

Cocaine said to be worth about £71,000 and cannabis valued at £5,400 was recovered on Wednesday in Aberdeen.

Alison Greig, 44, Colin Gillies, 45, and Christopher Doyle, 41, all said to be from Aberdeen, made no plea at the city's sheriff court on Friday.

Mr Gillies and Mr Doyle were remanded in custody, while their co-accused was released on bail.

'Significant seizures'

Meanwhile, Grampian Police said heroin, crack and cocaine worth £59,000 had also been seized in the past week.

Det Insp Malcolm MacLeod, head of the drug squad, said: "These are significant seizures of Class A drugs which were destined for the streets of Aberdeen.

"It appears that individuals and groups who are involved in the supply chain and who are making considerable financial gain as a result of their criminal activities believe that they will not be caught.

"I can assure them that we will target them, we are determined and absolutely committed to lock up individuals and groups who are involved in supplying drugs and we will continue to robustly carry out enforcement activity."
