Aberdeen Football Club is taking legal action over damage caused to its pitch during an Elton John concert five years ago.

The SPL club claims the concert promoter Marshall Arts Ltd had said the cost of replacing the Pittodrie pitch would be covered by insurance.

However, the club claims it has yet to be compensated for what is said to be a £36,000 bill after the 2004 concert.

The club has lodged a claim at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
