Biker, 21, loses life after crash

A motorcyclist left critically ill after crashing in Aberdeenshire has died in hospital.

The 21-year-old man, from the Aberdeen area, crashed while riding his orange Kawasaki on the A93, one mile west of Dinnet, at about 2140 BST on Thursday.

The biker - the only person involved - was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance but later died.

Grampian Police said it was believed the man had been in the Ballater area and was returning to Aberdeen.

The road was closed for several hours to allow an accident investigation.
