Council set to agree 3Rs future

School students
There are plans to build new schools in Aberdeen

A deal could be agreed to allow the completion of Aberdeen's troubled 3Rs school-building project.

The Scandinavian consortium constructing the schools ran into difficulties when Landsbanki, its Icelandic investor, collapsed.

The aim is to provide the city with new and refurbished schools costing £120m.

The urgent business committee will meet to decide whether to press ahead. It is understood evidence will be needed to show Landsbanki can provide funding.
