Namesakes of the Beatles could win trip on the inaugural flight
|
People who share their name with one of The Beatles are being sought to launch a new flight between Aberdeen and Liverpool. Regional airline Eastern Airways is to begin flights from Dyce to John Lennon Airport from 6 July. The airline is searching for anyone called John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison or Richard Starkey, Ringo Starr's real name. Women called Penny Lane or Eleanor Rigby could also win a trip. The winning namesakes will fly to Liverpool for a "VIP overnight stay". 'Fun launch' Graeme Ross, Eastern Airways' Scotland director, said: "This is a fun way to launch our new route from Aberdeen to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. "I hope there are some John Lennons and Penny Lanes out there who will be able to fly with us to Liverpool on our first day of the service." Those who put themselves forward will take part in a draw for the 6 July trip. Anyone with one of the Fab Four or song names can send their name, address and telephone number to fly.eastern@easternairways.com by Wednesday. The route has been inactive since Ryanair stopped its service between the two cities in 2007.
