Primary pupils at an Aberdeenshire school have premiered a film they made about the life of Mary Queen of Scots. The Kemnay Primary pupils been involved with scripting, filming and editing the film at Castle Fraser, where the premiere was held on Tuesday night. The P6 pupils have been working with the Aberdeenshire Media Unit. The deputy head at Kemnay Primary, Graham Still, said the youngsters had been "incredibly enthusiastic" about the "grand venture". The Catholic monarch's body has lain at Westminster Abbey in London since shortly after she was executed on the orders of her cousin Elizabeth in 1587. Mary fled to England after being forced to abdicate in 1567. She was held prisoner by Elizabeth I, found guilty of treason and executed at Fotheringhay Castle in Northamptonshire 20 years later.
