'Violent attack' was murder bid

A 19-year-old man is in a "very serious" condition after he was attacked in Glasgow on Friday night.

Police are treating the attack, which happened between 2230 BST and 2300 BST in Knightswood, as attempted murder.

The victim was walking along Fulton Street after a night out when the two men got out of a car and subjected him to an "extremely violent attack".

The 19-year-old, who is in intensive care, has been unable to give a description of the suspects.

Det Con Shirley Carr said: "The victim was making his way home alone following a night out, and has been subjected to an extremely violent attack.

"I believe the suspects may be blood stained and possibly also have minor injuries as the victim tried to protect himself, therefore I would appeal to members of the public to contact us if they know anyone they think may have been involved."
