Summer bus strike threat looming

First Bus in Aberdeen
First said news of the staff ballot was disappointing

The threat of summer bus strikes in Aberdeen has loomed closer with a postal ballot over pay being authorised.

The T&G Unite union is recommending that members at First Bus vote in favour of industrial action.

Management said they were disappointed, and said a pay award was possible if drivers agreed to a change in terms.

The union said it was still willing to negotiate with the company to avoid the need for action.
