Crash cyclist taken to hospital

A cyclist has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious head injuries after an accident involving a car in Peterhead.

The incident took place in the Aberdeenshire town's Kinmundy Road at about 1230 GMT.

The cyclist was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance under police escort, arriving at about 1415 GMT.

Grampian Police said local diversions were set up, and appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Meanwhile, a child taken to hospital in Fraserburgh, after being in a collision with a car in the town, was believed to have suffered relatively minor injuries.
