Emergency alert over helicopter

A Bristow helicopter with eight people on board was involved

A helicopter has landed safely after a full emergency was called at Aberdeen Airport.

The Bristow helicopter with eight people on board reported an engine warning light.

The alarm was raised at about 0950 GMT and the emergency services were called to the scene.

Grampian Police, Grampian Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service were involved. It landed safely at about 1015 GMT.

A Bristow Helicopters spokeswoman said: "An EC 225 helicopter returned safely to base after an engine warning light illuminated during a routine crew change flight.

"The helicopter was returning to Aberdeen from an offshore installation this morning with six passengers and two crew on board and landed without incident. The aircraft is currently being inspected."
