A car driver was targeted by a laser light in Stonehaven, police have said.

The driver of the car, travelling along the Den of Logie road on Thursday evening at about 2200 GMT, reported being distracted by the green laser.

Police said it was thought to have been directed from the Boardwalk area of the town.

Grampian Police said no damage or injury was caused but appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Two passenger planes landed safely at Aberdeen Airport after the pilots reported being distracted on their approach by powerful lasers on Tuesday evening.
