Appeal follows New Year assault

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman and man were attacked in Aberdeen during Hogmanay celebrations.

The 21-year-old woman and 32-year-old man were victims of an unprovoked attack by another woman and man who headbutted and punched them.

The attack happened between 0150 GMT and 0210 GMT on Thursday on George Street outside the Party Mania shop.

Grampian Police said the attack, which left the pair needing hospital treatment, was "cowardly".
