Police recovered more than 2,000 cannabis plants from three houses after a fire broke out at one of them, a court has heard.

Officers found the plants in the Aberdeen area earlier this year.

Two were in Scotsmill Avenue in Blackburn and the third was a property in the Kings Cross Road area.

Liang Wang, 30, and Cheng Ping Sei, 32, deny production and supply charges at the High Court in Aberdeen. The trial continues.

Witness Jean Fraser, 83, who lived near the Kings Cross Road house, told the second day of the trial there was a fire there in March and the fire brigade was alerted.

Both men have lodged the special defence of incrimination.
