Hundreds of people are expected to watch Aberdeen's main Christmas lights on Union Street being switched on.

Santa and his reindeers will be in the city centre for much of Sunday afternoon.

The main carnival parade will then start off at 1730 GMT from Albyn Place and head along Union Street, ending at the Castlegate at about 1800 GMT.

Local mascots and pantomime actors will be among those taking part, alongside Lord Provost Peter Stephen.
