Two killed in road accident named

Two young men killed in an Aberdeenshire crash have been named by police.

Edward Stalker, 23, and Derek Dawson, 24, both from near Cairnorrie, Methlick, died after a crash on the on the A947 south of Turriff on Friday.

Relatives of Mr Dawson said he was the much-loved baby of the family.

His father, David, said: "He was a character who brought lots of joy to our family. His loss will leave a huge hole in our hearts."

Police investigating the crash have appealed for witnesses in an attempt to trace a car which was in the area at the time.

Their car left the carriageway at about 2100 GMT on Friday.

Police want to trace a dark blue, P-registered coupe-style BMW car.
