Stagecoach staff were balloted about industrial action

A strike over pay by Stagecoach bus staff in the Highlands and north east of Scotland is back on after union members were balloted again.

The T&G Unite union re-balloted staff following last-minute talks with the company saw earlier action suspended.

A spokesman for Stagecoach Bluebird said: "We are deeply disappointed that our offer has been rejected."

The strike - planned for 11, 21 and 24 November - is expected to affect bus travel for school children.

A spokesman for Aberdeenshire Council said: "We are currently awaiting the full details of the forthcoming strike action so we can determine the impact this may have on our school services, as well as supported services and commercial routes.

"However, it is highly likely that parents will have to make alternative arrangements for getting their children to and from school.

"We will be in touch with parents directly to advise them of affected areas."
