The winner came forward in time to claim the prize

The winner of an unclaimed National Lottery ticket worth 121,340 bought in the Aberdeen area has finally come forward before the deadline.

An appeal had been made after the Saturday 9 August draw ticket matched five numbers and the bonus ball.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "We're delighted. It would have been awful if the ticket holder had missed out on this amount of money."

The winning numbers were 9, 10, 17, 29, 33, 40 and the bonus ball was 15.

The winner had until Thursday 5 February to come forward and make their claim, or the money would have gone to good causes.
