Mork and Mindy have caused surprise by having twin monkeys

A monkey called Mork whose partner died in a fire has fathered twins with his new love called Mindy.
Five-year-old Marmoset monkey Mork, who lives in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, was said to be sad and alone for two years when his pregnant partner died.
However, his new partner Mindy, who herself was very ill, has surprised their owners by having twins.
Jeff Downie said: "He was a very depressed little monkey but is now very proud."
Mr Downie told the BBC Scotland news website: "There was a fire a couple of years ago and his female partner died, and they lost twins.

Mork is a different lad altogether, he's a very, very happy wee man
|
"Mork was on his own for two years but we introduced him to Mindy, who is partially blind.
"We did not think there was any real hope of her living, but he bonded with her and started feeding her."
He explained: "The thought of her even breeding never crossed our mind. Then she had twins. It was a really big shock.
"Both twins are really healthy, it's some achievement.
"Mork is a different lad altogether, he's a very, very happy wee man."
The new twins have still to be named.
