Stagecoach action vote under way

Stagecoach bus
Almost 500 Stagecoach staff are being balloted on action

Hundreds of bus drivers and other staff at Stagecoach in the north east of Scotland are being balloted for industrial action.

Almost 500 staff, also including mechanics and cleaners at depots throughout Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray, are being balloted.

Any action would affect a range of bus services including school transport.

The ballot has been called by the T&G Unite union over a claim for improved pay and conditions.

It follows the rejection of a 4% pay offer.

The ballot is seeking a mandate for either a strike, or industrial action short of a walk out.

A company spokesman said they could not speculate on the outcome ahead of the ballot taking place.
