'Mindless' grave vandals hunted

Damage to ornaments at an infant's headstone in a cemetery has been branded "cruel".

The vandalism happened at the cemetery at Elphinstone Road, Port Elphinstone, Inverurie.

Grampian Police said the ornaments meant a lot to the mother and the vandalism had caused more distress less than a year after her child's death.

A force spokesman appealed to the local community to help them catch whoever carried out the "mindless" act.
