Wardens vote for 'work to rule'

The wardens want to retain their individual identities and duties

Parking wardens in Aberdeen have voted in favour of industrial action following a row to merge their jobs with those of community wardens.

They will begin a "work to rule" at the end of the month after arguing that community wardens issuing tickets would not promote good relations.

Aberdeen Council wants to merge the roles of different wardens but unions have been fighting against the move.

They have said there is still time to resolve the dispute.
