Labour councillors in Aberdeen have failed in a bid to have millions of pounds cut from the authority's capital budget.

They proposed projects such as the council's HQ move to Marischal College should be scrapped amid cutbacks.

A third River Don crossing and the pedestrianisation of the city's main Union Street were also targeted.

The council instead voted to cut about £600,000 from its capital budget, with no major projects affected.

Aberdeen City Council has a Lib Dem and SNP administration.
