Woman dies and two hurt in crash

A 60-year-old woman has been killed and two other people injured in a two-car accident in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened at crossroads on the A981 between Strichen and Memsie at about 1520 BST.

Police, ambulance and fire crews - with cutting gear - were called to the accident.

Two people were taken to hospital in Fraserburgh. The woman was trapped in one of the cars. Grampian Police said the road had been closed.
