Wife of missing man makes appeal

The wife of a man who went missing after visiting his baby daughter in hospital has made an emotional appeal for him to get in touch.

Stuart Campbell, 32, vanished on 12 August, after leaving the Aberdeen Royal Children's Hospital.

In a statement released through Grampian Police, Mr Campbell's wife Ashley said the condition of their daughter had improved.

Mrs Campbell said the baby was no longer a patient at the hospital.

She added: "It is encouraging to know so many people are looking for Stuart and offering us their support.

Appealing to her husband, Mrs Campbell said: "Stuart, our daughter is improving on a daily basis and is no longer in Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital. If you read this Stuart please get in touch, your family miss you."

Mr Campbell, of Tannachy Terrace, Portgordon, was wearing a short-sleeved polo shirt, mainly cream and chocolate brown in colour with bright orange, cream and blue horizontal stripes, light blue denim jeans and cream trainers with a brown toe and heel when he was last seen.

He was described as being 5ft 8in, of with a stocky build and fair mousy, very short hair, tattoos on both arms and speaks with a slight stammer.

Det Insp Stewart Kidd, who is leading the inquiry, said: "The response from the public has been good and a number of reported sightings are being investigated.

"It is now more than a week since Stuart was last seen and I would ask anyone who has outbuildings they haven't visited lately to check them and notify the police if they have concerns someone unknown to them may have been within."
