Detectives investigating the deaths of three men in a fishing boat fire at Fraserburgh Harbour said returning to the scene was a positive exercise.

The crew died when Vision II was hit by fire in the early hours of last Friday.

Officers returned to the area on Thursday evening to try and discover more about their movements.

Grampian Police Det Insp Martin Dunn said: "The operation was useful and positive and everybody we spoke to was supportive and eager to assist."

The names of the victims, two Filipinos and a Latvian, have still not been released.

It is thought foreign crew members sometimes sleep on the boats in the harbour.

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) is investigating the fire.

It is not being treated by police as suspicious.
