The funeral of a 22-year-old who died in a crash alongside his girlfriend and her sister has been held.

Mark Gardiner died in the crash in Aberdeenshire last week. His partner Rachel Putnam, 20, and her sister Elena, 18, also died.

Mr Gardiner's funeral was at Buckie's Methodist Church. A service for the sisters will be held on Wednesday.

The three, all from Cullen, died in a collision with a van on the B9022, south of Portsoy, on Monday 14 July.

Donations could be given to the air ambulance service and RNLI instead of flowers.

The Gardiner family said at the time: "The family are deeply upset by the loss of their son and brother. He will be sadly missed."
