Woman badly hurt in city accident

The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment

A female pedestrian has been taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries after being hit by a lorry in Aberdeen.

The accident happened on School Road at about 1320 BST.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The Scottish Ambulance Service said her injuries were believed to be serious.

Traffic was being diverted at St Machar Drive and also onto School Avenue. Grampian Police appealed for witnesses.
