Changes for school week studied

Hands up in class
A full report will go back to councillors in January

A plan to change the school week from five days to four-and-a-half for all Aberdeen pupils is to go out for consultation.

Councillors are divided on the merits of the proposals, but have narrowly agreed to explore further the idea of reducing the school week.

The consultation will take place later this year, with a full report going back to councillors in January.

The move to consult further was approved by 10 votes to nine.
