A man and woman have appeared in court over the murder of Glasgow restaurant manager Eleni Pachou.

Waiter Juan Carlos Suarez Crispin, 37, and cleaner Marion Hinshelwood, 43, face charges of conspiring to murder and rob Ms Pachou at Di Maggio's.

The pair are also alleged to have tried to pervert the course of justice by destroying clothing and articles used to clean the 25-year-old's blood.

Ms Hinshelwood was the cleaner who found the trainee manager's body.

Mr Crispin formerly worked with Ms Pachou at Di Maggios, in Ruthven Lane, in the city's West End.

The pair appeared separately and in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court. They made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody. They are due to appear in court again next week.

Ms Pachou's body was found in the kitchen of the restaurant on 30 May.

She had been left alone to lock up.

Police confirmed that the night's takings from the restaurant had disappeared.
