Burns boy 'critical but stable'

A 13-year-old boy who was badly burned at an electricity sub-station in Aberdeen has been described as being in a "critical but stable" condition.

Grant Rae has been transferred from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

NHS Lothian said he was being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit.

The incident happened at Aberdeen's Bedford Road on Monday morning. A friend raised the alarm.

Grampian Police urged parents to warn their children about the dangers of electricity sub-stations.

The incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
