A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital suffering from burns after a "serious" incident at an electricity sub-station in Aberdeen.
The emergency services were called to the scene at Bedford Road after the alarm was raised by a friend of the boy shortly after 1100 BST.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being removed from the sub-station by paramedics.
Police said the boy's mother had been informed. His condition was not known.
'Dangerous environment'
Grampian Police Insp Ailsa Farmer said: "We would urge parents to warn their children about the dangers of electricity sub-stations.
"Any unauthorised persons entering such a dangerous environment are placing themselves at serious risk of injury or worse."
She added: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or seen any youngsters near the sub-station prior to the incident to contact us."
The incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
