The object was found in Pennan on Friday morning

A Royal Nayy bomb disposal unit has been called to Pennan after a metal object was found on the shore.
Police found the 3ft long cylinder half submerged on Friday, after being alerted by a member of the public.
The nearest houses are about 100m away, separated by a thick harbour wall, so there was no evacuation. The Navy team was due to arrive at about 1600 BST.
Pennan, and its red phone box, found fame thanks to Bill Forsyth's 1983 film Local Hero, starring Burt Lancaster.
