The Triple Kirks spire is a famous Aberdeen landmark
Aberdeen's historic Triple Kirks site is set for redevelopment.
The derelict church site has been acquired by the Stewart Milne Group, and the company hopes to lodge plans to transform the A-listed property.
Built in the 1800s after being designed by architect Archibald Simpson, the red-brick tower and spire has been lying derelict since the 1970s.
Other proposals for the site have failed to get off the ground in recent years.
Malcolm Deans, of Stewart Milne Group's commercial property division, said: "We are currently developing our proposals for this acquisition, and expect to take a scheme to planning for a Grade A office development before the end of 2008.
"Triple Kirks will provide a unique office environment in the very heart of the city with superb views over Union Terrace Gardens."
