Alcohol service given funds hope

Alcohol
Council cutbacks have threatened the alcohol support service

An alcohol support project in Aberdeen which provides an alternative to police cells or hospital has been given fresh hope amid threats to its future.

Albyn House has had £140,000 of funding cut by Aberdeen City Council.

BBC Scotland understands a meeting is to take place on Monday afternoon between senior health, council and police officials.

It is hoped a funding solution can be found due to fears the cuts would lead to the service being reduced or shut.
