Surgery for cat shot with pellet

A cat required surgery after being shot with a suspected airgun pellet in Peterhead.

The incident happened in the Aberdeenshire town's Grange Gardens on Wednesday just after 0800 GMT.

The pellet had to be surgically removed from the injured cat, and it survived the operation.

Grampian Police, appealing for witnesses, said: "Due to the time of day, it is anticipated that a number of persons would have been in the area."
