Backpacker's body returning home
Karen Aim
Ms Aim's body is due to be flown back to the UK
The funeral of Karen Aim, the 26-year-old woman from Orkney murdered in New Zealand last week, will take place on Tuesday.

Ms Aim's body left Taupo - where she was attacked on her way home from a night out - on Friday morning, to make the 12,000 mile journey to Orkney.

Alan Robertson, also from Orkney and working in the town, was accompanying her body on its journey to the islands.

His fare has been paid for by donations from the Taupo community.

A memorial service will also be held in the New Zealand tourist town to coincide with Ms Aim's funeral at the East Mainland Church in Holm.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday by New Zealand police investigating her murder.

However, officers in Taupo insisted they were making no connection with her death at this stage.

The investigation into her murder, named Operation Waikato, is concentrating on speaking to everyone who was in the area overnight on 16 and 17 January.
