The Dalek has been a big hit with children in hospital
A replica Dr Who Dalek has found a new home at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital (RACH) to keep spirits up among the young patients.

The full-sized Dalek has been donated to the hospital after an auction.

It has already been well-received by the children, thanks to the popularity of the BBC's Dr Who series.

Play specialist Maureen McDonald said: "With so many patients who are Dr Who fans, RACH is extremely fortunate. It's a fantastic treat for the children."

It is understood the Dalek was built about 20 years ago and has appeared in toy shops and starred in touring productions before.

The Dalek was given to RACH after being donated to charity auction by a local business, where it was bought by a local daily newspaper which passed it on.
